"of course I was raised to gather courage from those
lofty tales so tried and true.
if you're able, i'd suggest it, cause this
modern thought can get the best of you."
-- young pilgrims, the shins
"if you do follow your bliss you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. follow your bliss and don't be afraid, and doors will open where you didn't know they were going to be."
-- joseph campbell
selfhood - nothing compels like the personality fully awake. i have found moments where all of nature seems to look my way, towards the person, the creature, i have just found. those moments, those instances of eye contact that break far beyond the expected, these looks belong to the folks who behave from their deepest instincts - they are alive and feel the joy and pain of every moment.
to meet someone who is following their bliss is to see every myth embodied in human form. all stories, all fashion, all art, all culture, contains the same echo: be not afraid of the universe.
go forth. initiate. ask questions. try your talents. test the waters. fail quickly. create next actions. don't wait. burn yourself out. expire in the heat. embrace the one you love. step out. initiate. be the myth. tell the story.
